Burnley BB11 5PF. - Walk Leaders: Laura Gardner & Amanda Urmston - Burnley Tourism
This circular trail goes around Clowbridge Reservoir, up to the former hamlet of Gambleside with its ancient crosses and then across Crown Point to the Singing-Ringing Tree.
With excellent views over the reservoir - where windsurfing and sailing take place – to the moors beyond this is a moderate walk requiring a reasonable level of fitness. The section up to the Singing-Ringing Tree takes you through newly planted woodland and across the spectacular windswept moors where the ground is steeper and more difficult underfoot.
Trampers can be booked for this walk, please note that on a short section of the route the trampers will be joining the main road as the path is inaccessible for the vehicles.
Please be aware of the weather conditions and wear stout boots and warm, waterproof clothing and bring plenty of fluids to drink during the walk.
Laura Gardner and Amanda Urmston work for the tourism section of Burnley Council. Lancashire Countryside Services operate the tramper service and can be contacted on 01995 640557.
