Guided Towpath Walk through
the Weavers’ Triangle

The canal at the wharf

This fascinating walk takes in the history and heritage of the Weavers’ Triangle – its heyday as the centre of the cotton industry in Burnley, the story of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and the absorbing history of the life and times of the people who worked in the mills, foundries and houses located in the triangle.

This is an easy walk along the towpath of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal from the Weavers’ Triangle Visitor Centre to Oak Mount Mill Engine House which will be open for you to look around.

Brian Hall is the Chairman of the Friends of the Weavers’ Triangle and leads guided walks through the area on several occasions throughout the year.
